When services enter vacancy, fee and inclusion information into the CCS Provider Entry Point (PEP) using their PRODA account, or via their preferred software provider, this data flows through to display on StartingBlocks.gov.au.

To keep service fee and vacancy information up to date on StartingBlocks.gov.au, services need to ensure that these details are entered into the PEP correctly.

How to update fees

To update fees in PEP, services need to:

  • Select ‘Fee and Inclusion Details’
  • Select the “Session Type”
  • Select any relevant inclusions for each age group age group, or “No Inclusions” if they are not offered
  • Enter the “Usual Fee” for each selected age group
  • Select “Submit”

How to update vacancies

To update vacancies in PEP, services need to enter vacancies by age group:

  • Select the date using the calendar icon. The current week or next week can be updated.
  • Select ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ for each day of the week to indicate their vacancy status
  • Select ‘Advanced’ to provide additional details for vacancies on that date by age group and session type.
  • Select “Submit”

Service updates may take 24 to 48 hours to appear on the StartingBlocks.gov.au website.

Further information and screen shots are available on page 8 of the PEP user guide:

Frequently asked questions

I’ve entered my service vacancies in PEP but they are not displaying correctly on StartingBlocks.gov.au?

Please ensure that service vacancies are entered according to age group, using the method above.

If a service is using third party provider software that does not allow full vacancy to be entered (only a ‘yes/no’ tickbox to record vacancies), they will need to update their vacancies via the PEP using the method above.

It is important to ensure that service vacancies are reflected accurately in PEP by logging in via PRODA and checking that the vacancies appear by age group.

You can also contact the CCS Provider Helpdesk to ensure that your information is correct in the CCS IT system.

If you have been advised by the CCS Provider Helpdesk that the service data is reflected correctly in the CCS IT system, but the data has still not displayed on StartingBlocks.gov.au after 48 hours, please contact us.
